For sale is an absolute rarity for collectors of antique porcelain and historical character dolls: an original, beautifully crafted biscuit porcelain box/figurine group from Gebrüder Heubach (Lichte, Thuringia) dating from around 1910. The motif is world-famous under the name "Four Babies in a Basket".
From a finely modeled basket, four darling baby heads with the characteristic distinctive Heubach facial expressions, various bonnets, and finely accentuated hand painting emerge.
The box is elaborately molded in relief and decorated with a suggested lock-and-key motif.
