Set of 2 cotton kitchen towels designed by Ennio Lucini in the 1960s–1970s, Italy, in orange and red, in as-new condition, measuring 77 cm by 50 cm and weighing 200 g.
Description from the seller
Set of 2 vintage kitchen towels designed by the famous Italian designer and graphic designer Ennio Lucini in the 1970s.
The pieces are part of a famous series of humorous and illustrated textiles that combine the great tradition of editorial graphics and Italian design of the era (with strong Pop Art echoes and surrealist references to René Magritte) with the world of the home.
Canovaccio Arancione: "Brodo allo Schizzo (ricetta rara)", decorated with ironic text, stylized frames and a central explosion "SPLASH!". Although it was never used, it has a small black spot (see photo) that does not compromise its beauty.
Canovaccio Rosso: "Marito 'Cotto' con Sentimento (ricetta per mogli moderne)", with a male figure wearing a bowler hat and a two-tone face, framed by sinuously ornamental elements.
Both bear the original signature of Ennio Lucini printed on the lower edge.
Ideal as collectibles of Italian graphic design, but also fantastic when framed under glass as real decorative paintings for the kitchen, restaurants or venues.
