Description from the seller
Antique Art Nouveau Silver Napkin Ring – Female Profile & Floral Decoration
Elegant and highly decorative antique silver napkin ring in the Art Nouveau style, featuring a charming female profile surrounded by flowing floral and foliate motifs.
The central decoration depicts the profile of a young woman with her hair elegantly arranged, framed by sinuous stems, leaves and small flowers. The fluid lines and naturalistic ornamentation are characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic, which flourished around the turn of the 20th century.
The engraved and chased decoration is enhanced by the natural darkening of the recessed areas, creating an attractive contrast and giving greater depth to the design.
The napkin ring has a classic cylindrical form with raised borders at the upper and lower edges. The interior shows a warm-toned patina.
A particularly charming example of antique table silver, combining functionality with the elegant decorative language of the Art Nouveau period.
