Iconic advertising poster “E. Lemonon Eau-de-Vie” for Denis Frères, characterized by a scenographic composition with an oriental figure in traditional dress in front of a large decorated vase.
Note: This is a later edition from the 1970s.
The work was drawn by the famous poster artist Leonetto Cappiello, absolute master of advertising between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, known for his images with strong visual impact, rich colors and theatrical subjects. In this poster, his distinctive style clearly emerges: a dynamic central figure, a bright monochrome background and strong color contrast that immediately catches the eye.
The scene, with exotic and refined taste, evokes the Oriental imagery very fashionable at the time, making the poster particularly decorative and sought after in international collecting. At the bottom there is the plate signature with the date 1922, confirming the original model from which this edition is derived.
