Samson - Double handled vase - Porcelain - Cache-pot armoire

Porcelain Paris cache-pot jardinière from the Edme Samson et Cie factory, late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
Cylinder form with a molded border and two mascaron lion-head gilded handles in fine relief.
Polychrome hand-painted decoration in the style of the East India Company, China export, famille rose, armorial.
High frieze in blue scale motif on a trellis background with cartouches reserved for pink flowers and berries. Lower frieze identical.
Main face: coat of arms, azure shield with two silver eight-pointed stars in chief and a gold fleur-de-lis at the point, with gilded lambrequins, gold foliage, and a floral crown.
Other face: bouquet of pink peonies and white flowers with green foliage.
Gold borders around the neck and base and gold dotted accents under the molding.
Mark under the base: a blue umbrella/parasol with a J and two blue dots; “Porcelain of Paris Samson” mark, photo provided.
Material: hard porcelain, glossy white enamel, hand-painted, burnished gold.
Dimensions: height about 22 cm, diameter 25 cm.
Period: late 19th century, around 1880–1900; manufactured by Edme Samson Paris; specialty in imitation of the 18th-century East India Company, reference Sothebys “Samson genie de l’imitation.”
Condition: good; decorative wear, normal wear on the upper edge lightly rubbed as in photo; interior with spots and use; no cracks, no restoration; painting vivid.
