Rare Porcelain Pointer Dog Sculpture – Amphora, Czechoslovakia, 1920-1930
Splendid and rare vintage porcelain sculpture depicting a Pointer hunting dog in a standing pose, produced by the famous Czechoslovak manufactory Amphora (Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel) between 1918 and 1939.
The piece stands out for exceptional anatomical realism and refined hand-painted finish, faithfully reproducing the breed's typical dappled coat.
The figure rests on a naturalistic base that simulates rocky terrain.
The back of the base bears all authenticity marks:
Oval mark impressed in the ceramic body "AMPHORA"
Model/shape number impressed: 8341
Serial/lot number impressed: 20
Black circular stamp under showcase "Amphora Made in Czechoslovakia" (export mark of the era)
Decorator's initials "VI" painted by hand
Dimensions: Height: 23 cm Length: 30 cm Depth: 14 cm
Conditions: Excellent vintage condition. The item is absolutely intact, free from crazing, chipping, restorations, or losses. The display case retains its original brilliance.
