Vase with an organic geoid form and a knotted conical neck.
Chun glaze, with accentuated movement and hazel-fur effects.
Max Modolo makes these ceramic pieces in his Italian studio.
His research concerns both the forms of ceramics and their finishes.
He is very interested in the glaze effects obtained by some Italian artists such as Guido Gambone and Marcello Fantoni, and he has always been drawn to the forms made by Lucie Rie and Hans Coper.
He is passionate about the work of Mangiarotti, Lindberg, Larsson, Bitossi, Nylund, Friberg, Scheurich, Fornasetti, Rörstrand, Sottsass, Gio Ponti, Campi, Mendini, Fontana, and about pop art, Scandinavian design, op art, contemporary sculpture, minimalism, and modern art.
