The object shown in the image is an antique biblical tapestry painted on canvas depicting the iconography of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, surrounded by putti and cherubs. At the center is the Virgin Mary with a blue mantle, who points with her hand to her burning heart crowned with roses, symbol of her purity, devotion, and maternal love. Around the sacred figure develops a crown of angelic faces immersed in divine light. This is a devotional banner for wall or processional use, finished along the edges with an interwoven trim and completed at the bottom by a distinctive decorative fringed nappe. The fabric is threaded and stretched at the top through a horizontal wooden rod supported by a cord to allow wall suspension. On the back side a sacred figure is visible. Religious textile articles of this kind were mainly produced in the mid-20th century (roughly between the 1950s and 1970s) as sacred interior decor for domestic interiors or for small private chapels.
