Offered are the Collected Works (in a so-called ‘Pocket Edition’) of the Scottish writer Walter Scott (1771-1832), published by Adam and Charles Black in Edinburgh between 1873 and 1876 and divided into 4 parts, namely ‘Novels’ (25 volumes), ‘Poetical Works’ (6 volumes), ‘Tales of a Grandfather’ and ‘Life of Napoleon Bonaparte’ (5 volumes):

All books have a title engraving; in most cases also a frontispiece image.

All books are linen bound; all books also have an ex libris for R.G. Posthumus by the hand of Hans Beers (1891-1979), and almost all books have vignettes from the bookshop Somerwil in Leiden.

Condition: all volumes are well to firmly bound, almost all are partly weather-stained, especially near the front, around the engravings. In some volumes there are light damages to the front due to the removal of labels, etc.
