Antique 1843 Solid Oak Cheese Mould – Double-Sided, Dovetail Construction
A rare 19th-century solid oak cheese mould, dated 1843, with an unusual double-sided design and beautifully handcrafted dovetail construction.
The mould features two compartments of different depths, approx. 12 and 16 cm. Both sides are marked “1843”. Made from heavy solid oak, it has a wonderful aged patina and authentic signs of traditional use.
Originally intended for traditional cheese making, today this substantial antique can also be used as a unique planter, decorative storage box or trinket box. Its rustic appearance makes it a striking decorative object in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Period: 1843 marked on both sides (approximately 183 years old)
