Description from the seller

To be collected on site.
1200 Woluwe Saint Lambert

A very nice set of 6 “bistro” chairs by Jacob & Josef Kohn. These Viennese chairs carry the number 67 in the catalog of this Austrian company founded in 1848.
They are characterized by a solid beech wood curved frame and by a thermoformed seat and backrest. This embossed wood forms relief patterns reminiscent of the Henri II style.
The very good seat with a granular/granite-like appearance is edged and squared at the front and bolted at the back. The backs are pierced, curved and angled backward.
Each chair bears the J&J Kohn stamp under the belt. Some still have the label “Jacob & Josef Kohn, Wien” under the seat.

J. & J. Kohn :
Jacob & Josef Kohn was the leading competitor of Thonet at the dawn of the 1900s.
The company engaged avant-garde Viennese architects, Josef Hoffmann, Sieget, and Moser, to create modern, appealing furniture for an affluent clientele.
