Groot vintage crucifix – Corpus Christi – hollow-cast metal – 45 cm
Beautiful and strikingly large crucifix with Corpus Christi, executed in a warm gold-colored metal finish.
The detailed worked-out corpus shows Christ on the cross with a finely depicted face, hair, hands, feet and loincloth. The cross has a simple, clean form, directing all attention to the corpus.
The corpus is hollow-cast, as visible from the opening at the rear. Given the light weight, it is presumably made of a light cast metal alloy, possibly zamak/spelter or brass, with a gold-colored finish.
A characterful religious object that is suitable both for a collector of ecclesiastical art and devotional items, and for a classic or country-style interior.
