Crown Devon - Seating group (6) - Crown Devon Collection Plates - Staffordshire, England - Glazed ceramic

Splendid and elegant set of 6 collectible wall plates, made of refined glazed ceramic and finely decorated. Central decoration depicting romantic riverside scenes of the English countryside with fishermen along the river, lush vegetation, and historic houses in the background. The rim of each plate features a very rich floral and Baroque relief work (embossed) under glaze, with multi-lobed shaped edging.

All six plates already come with their own spring wall supports (adjustable hooks mounted on the back), ready to be hung and displayed as soon as they arrive!

The plates belong to the famous "English River Scenes" series from the prestigious British brand Crown Devon (S. Fielding & Co. Ltd., Staffordshire, England).

Period: Vintage (mid-20th century approx. / 1930s–1950s).

Material: Gloss glazed ceramic (polychrome transferware print with a warm finish in mustard/yellow honey tones).

The plates are in excellent overall condition, with no chips, cracks, or restorations on the front or edges.

Production note: On the back of one plate there is a small smear/dark pigment mark trapped under the glaze. We want to specify that this is not a defect or damage, but an original imperfection produced during the firing and furnace fabrication process, typical of artisanal ceramic production of the era that attests to its authenticity.
