AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large plate "Longevity" in white and blue porcelain (diameter 28 cm), Qing Dynasty China (19th Century).
Affascinante e tipico piatto cinese da esportazione in porcellana bianca e blu. This type of craftsmanship, historically produced in the famous Jingdezhen kilns or in the Fujian area, is well known among collectors.
At the center of the cavetto, the plate features a refined lobed medallion in the shape of lotus petals enclosing the stylized Shou symbol, the traditional and powerful Chinese auspicious symbol for long life, health, and longevity.
The medallion is surrounded by a frame recalling the sacred longevity fungus or stylized clouds; the rim and the cavetto are finely decorated with cobalt blue underglaze, with a dense and evocative radiating pattern of vertical geometric lines.
The back features an unglazed foot ring with a high-fired clay body consistent with the period, stylized decorations on the outer edge, and an old label with handwritten numbering.
The object is currently mounted on a spring-loaded metal display stand for wall display.
A classic, substantial-format specimen of 19th-century Chinese ceramic culture, entirely akin to those recovered from the era’s famous commercial shipwrecks (such as the cargo of the Diana Cargo ship, sunk in 1816).
Perfect for collectors of Oriental art and lovers of the genre.
In good condition with evident signs of wear consistent with the age of the piece and a small, light chip, scratches, and firing imperfections typical of the period’s kilns.
Weight: 1.2 kg.
For full details, please refer to the photos.
The plate will be professionally packed and shipped with a tracking number.
