AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A very special and unique piece of folk art, probably made in Germany around the Black Forest in the years between 1880 and 1920. It is a wooden (oak) holder for letters or cards to be hung. In the very fine woodcarving, all handmade, you see a human face of a man surrounded by leaves. This is called the Green Man, the Mascaron, symbolizing rebirth, spring and the bond with nature. The star on the front stands for luck and protection. On the back, which is smooth, the hand-hammered wire nails are still clearly visible. Given the age of this object the condition is still very good, hardly any damage, splinters. Well, the usual signs of use, but that’s normal for such an old object. A distinctive, artisanal and interesting piece of Folk Art. This decorative object is of course carefully securely packaged and quickly shipped.
