Description from the seller

this splendid alabaster sculpture, an authentic collectors' item from the renowned Volterra production at the dawn of the 20th century. The work depicts a dancer captured in a dynamic, graceful pose, an iconic and much-loved motif of the Art Deco era.

Main Features:
Period and Style: Early 20th century, full Art Deco taste with classical influences. The style deftly blends the linearity and geometrization typical of Parisian Deco with the timeless elegance of classical sculpture.

Subject: A nude female figure, rendered with sensuality and lightness, caught in the midst of a dance. The stylized drapery surrounding her is clad in a rich gold leaf finish, creating a magnificent chromatic contrast with the translucent white of the alabaster.

Material: Fine Volterra alabaster, renowned for its beauty and its ability to capture and diffuse light, giving the sculpture a luminous and unique aura.

Details and Condition: The sculpture rests on a geometric gray-stone base. As shown in the close-up photos, the work is in generally good conservation condition, with the normal signs of aging on the gilded finish that attest to its authenticity and historic charm.

Decor: Thanks to its refined and timeless design, this piece fits perfectly in both classical and contemporary interiors, adding a touch of sophisticated elegance and art-historical prestige.
