Attr. Cenedese - Platter - Glass - Sommerso-style bowl

This unique glass object is a beautiful example of vintage Murano glass art, attrib. Cenedese most likely made in the mid-20th century (the 1950s or 1960s) in Italy.

Technique: The piece is manufactured with the renowned Sommerso technique. Here, several layers of colored glass are blown over one another without the colors bleeding into each other, which creates the characteristic depth. This is clearly visible in the pink/cranberry-colored teardrop core surrounded by a thick layer of smoky gray to dark purple glass, with an opening on top to put something in if desired.

Form and Designer: The organic, biomorphic leaf shape and the streamlined design strongly recall iconic designs from that period by renowned glass studios such as Seguso Vetri d'Arte, Archimede Seguso, or designer Flavio Poli.

Good condition, no chips, light scratches on the bottom and the black caps are felt pads.
