Description from the seller
Discover the power and finesse of the finest instruments in Europe. Since 1853 Blüthner from Leipzig, Germany has earned its place as one of the world's best piano makers. Blüthner pianos are renowned worldwide for their elegant, singing tone, making the instruments exceptionally suited to perform the most beautiful music. Among those who owned a Blüthner grand were Gustav Mahler, Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff. The latter once noted that when he traveled to America he took with him only two things: his wife and his Blüthner.
With a length of 210 centimeters, this instrument has the capacity to produce the intimate sound Blüthner is known and celebrated for, but it also carries the power to perform in a concertante, grand manner. The instrument features the patent-pending Aliquot system in which an additional fourth string is added to the strings in the last two octaves. This string is not struck by the hammer, but resonates along, resulting in a fuller tone.
The year of manufacture, 1998, makes this a young occasion/entry and therefore extremely suitable for professional use. However, conservatory students or dedicated amateurs can also fully express their musical ideas with it.
