Item Description
This lot is a 2-piece set aimed at collectors of tea ceremony utensils and kimono accessories. It combines a black-glazed matcha bowl (chawan) by Miyaji Eika (宮地英香) with a Nishijin-ori pure silk fukuro obi.

The chawan is finished in a lustrous black glaze known as "Kuro Ninsei," decorated with painted designs in gold, red, cream, and green depicting chrysanthemums, pine, and a drum bridge (taiko-bashi) spanning flowing water. The foot ring (kōdai) is unglazed, leaving the clay body exposed. No box is included.

The obi is a Nishijin-ori pure silk fukuro obi woven with a pattern of bridges, chrysanthemums, and peonies on a gold ground, with cranes in flight over water also visible. A woven maker's inscription reading "Ukihashi Kosode Mon" can be found along the lower edge of the obi.

The chawan has no visible chips or cracks upon visual inspection, though there are small dot-like marks on the unglazed portion of the foot ring (a common occurrence from the firing process). The obi shows no notable staining or damage within the photographed area; however, as this is an aged item, we recommend a full inspection prior to use.
