Print on paper by Natali Wood, titled Pino Silvestre, from the Huellas del Bosque series, produced in Spain in 2026, using Yakisugi on a Pine Silvestre matrix; edition limited, signed and numbered; dimensions 100 × 125 cm.
Description from the seller
Scots pine belongs to the series Footprints of the Forest, a project in which reclaimed wood becomes the matrix and leaves its own imprint on the paper.
For this work I used a cut of Scots pine, worked with the traditional Japanese technique Yakisugi, which consists of charing the surface of the wood to reveal and enhance its natural grain.
The matrix preserves the shapes, cracks, irregularities and growth rings of the tree. Each of these marks becomes part of the final image, making the tree itself the origin and protagonist of the print.
The print is handmade in burnished earth-toned etching ink on high-quality paper. The variations in ink intensity and the small irregularities of the printing are part of the character of the work and attest to its artisan process.
It is a limited edition, signed and numbered by the artist.
A large-format piece in which the passage of time is recorded in each ring: years of growth converted into a single imprint on the paper.
Dimensions of the work: 100 × 125 cm.
Technique: print from Scots pine wood matrix / Yakisugi
Ink: etching ink, burnt earth tone
Support: art paper
Edition: limited, signed and numbered
