Item Description This is a small two-drawer wooden storage box modelled on the traditional *tansu* style. The body is finished in a warm honey-coloured wood (likely veneered) featuring beautifully undulating grain, with expressive wood-grain patterns extending across all four sides. The top panel and base are crafted from slightly lighter-toned wood, with rounded, projecting moulded edges that create the refined architectural silhouette characteristic of small tansu designed to hold jewellery or documents. Each drawer front is fitted with black lacquer-style iron corner hardware in a design evoking clouds and flowing waves, complemented by black bail-pull handles with a diamond-pattern grip, together enhancing the decorative appeal. These fittings show little sign of wear, suggesting this piece may be a relatively recent production made in the traditional style rather than an older antique. The base is slightly raised, with a gently scalloped cut-out along the underside — a typical finishing detail found in Japanese furniture. The two drawers offer practical storage space for jewellery, stationery, and small items. Its compact dimensions make it well suited as a desktop or shelf organiser, or as an accent piece to evoke a Japanese interior aesthetic. Dimensions Height: 15 cm Width: 22.5 cm Depth: 13 cm Weight 784 g Condition Overall good used condition. There is a slight mark on the front of the lower drawer, and minor signs of careful use are present, but no structural damage or missing hardware was found. Additional Information The wood grain appears to be veneered, and the edges of the top panel have a painted finish. No maker's marks or stamps were found. The item will be carefully packaged and shipped by Japan Post or DHL, depending on the situation. Due to the changes to the EU tax-free (VAT) system, Japan Post has become unable to ship certain goods valued at €150 or less to an increasing number of European countries. Depending on the destination and circumstances, the shipping method may therefore be changed from Japan Post to DHL. Delivery normally takes approximately 3 weeks, or up to 3 months if the item is shipped by sea. Please note that import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. For customs clearance, your local customs office or delivery company may contact you by phone or email. To avoid any delays or the return of the parcel, please ensure that you can respond promptly to any such requests. If the parcel is returned due to an inability to contact you or complete customs clearance, additional shipping charges, which may be more than twice the original shipping cost, will apply for reshipment. Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. We will do our utmost to ensure that your item arrives safely and without any issues.
