Original wood engraving of the screaming crow by Jan Mankes (1918), monogram in the block and signed in pencil.

A great Dutch master artist, who sadly died at the age of only 31.

His entire oeuvre, created between 1907 and 1918, comprises about 150 paintings, mostly in small formats, around 100 drawings and over 40 sheets of graphic art, mainly etchings and woodcuts.

The woodcut is printed on sturdy paper with black ink.
On the back, you can feel the impression of the wood block. In good condition. A slight discoloration due to age.

Een grote Nederlandse meester kunstenaar, die helaas slechts 31 jaar is geworden. Zijn gehele oeuvre, ontstaan tussen 1907 en 1918, omvat ongeveer 150 schilderijen, merendeels op kleine formaten, een 100-tal tekeningen en ruim 40 bladen grafiek, voornamelijk etsen en houtsneden.

De houtsnede is gedrukt op stevig papier met zwarte inkt . 
Op de achterzijde voel je de afdruk van het houtblok. In mooie staat. Een lichte verkleuring door de ouderdom.
