As part of her documentary work (including for the Farm Security Administration and the Bureau of Agricultural Economics), Dorothea Lange took photographs in Arizona in November 1940. Well-known images from this trip were captured in places such as Eloy and Buckeye (Maricopa County), where she documented the living and working conditions of migratory cotton pickers. More broadly, she traveled and photographed for the FSA/Resettlement Administration periodically between 1935 and 1941 (primarily in the Western, Southern, and Southwestern United States).
