“Midnight in the Park” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work represents a nocturnal park built through a deeply symmetric composition. A circular fountain occupies the foreground and gives way to a long central path that leads the gaze toward a column in the background. On both sides, naked trees rise like dark silhouettes, creating a vertical rhythm that frames the scene and accentuates its depth.
The palette is dominated by a wide range of blues: from luminous turquoises to cobalt, ultramarine, and deep violets. Against this cool atmosphere stand small warm points of light from the street lamps and, especially, a large yellow moon that appears suspended among the branches.
The free handling of color and the simplification of forms show echoes of fauvism, while the visible brushwork adds movement to a scene that seems quiet. The reflections on the water, the dispersed lights, and the black branches cut against the intense sky intensify the sense of stillness and mystery.

“Midnight in the Park” transforms an everyday urban space into a nocturnal landscape of almost theatrical character, where perspective, light, and chromatic contrast build an atmosphere that is serene, solitary, and evocative.
