Koichi Okada was a master artist who, alongside Hasui Kawase and Shiro Kasamatsu, made significant contributions to the development of the Shin-hanga(New Print) movement.
Born in Tokyo, studied with Ishii Hakutei and Arishima Ikuma and was a member of the art group Issuikai.
He focused primarily on landscape prints, characterized by lyrical depictions of scenery created using traditional techniques. And he is known for his beautifully detailed woodblock prints depicting Mt. Fuji. Considered a true Shin-Hanga master.
