Capa took a large number of shots of Picasso in his lifetime, but the summer of 1948 was the one where he accompanied Picasso in almost all of his private life.

Robert Capa (real name Endre Ernő Friedmann, 1913–1954) is one of the most famous war photographers and photojournalists of the 20th century. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he redefined field reporting with his immersive style and his absolute closeness to danger, embodied by his famous maxim: “If your photos aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.”
