Art Déco brass urn with a weighted circular base dating to the first half of the 20th century, featuring a central relief frieze and a silvered brass finish.
Description from the seller
This elegant Art Deco amphora-style vase, made during the first half of the twentieth century, stands out for the refined sobriety of its lines and the harmonious combination of smooth surfaces with ornamental relief elements. Its stylized silhouette, with an ascending barrel-shaped body and a short slightly widening neck, reflects the Art Deco movement’s preference for purified geometric forms and balanced proportions.
The piece features a metallic finish in warm golden tones with a patina acquired over time, which adds visual depth and historical authenticity. In the central zone, there is a decorative relief band, conceived as a continuous frieze of stylized vegetal inspiration, whose repetitive motifs provide rhythm and sophistication to the whole. This ornamentation, restrained and symmetrical, integrates perfectly into the decorative language of the decorative arts of the 1920s and 1930s, where elegance was expressed through orderly and clearly structured designs.
The weighted circular base provides notable stability, in addition to reinforcing visually the sense of solidity and verticality of the piece. Its functional conception, together with the decorative quality of the reliefs and the appeal of its aged finish, makes this vase an interesting example of Art Deco decoration, ideal both as an independent ornamental object and to integrate into interiors with vintage, industrial, or eclectic inspiration.
This is a decorative piece with a marked architectural character and sculptural presence, capable of adding a touch of classical elegance and sophistication typical of design from the first half of the twentieth century.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
