Description from the seller
No reserve price!
BSalva Trilobada Art Nouveau – Germany, produced by the prestigious WMF factory (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). Late 19th century / early 20th century (around 1900–1930).
Engraved on the base with period manufacturing marks: "WMFM" (indicating base metal alloy brass), "I/O" (silver plating of normal thickness) and "as" (antique patinated finish).
WMFM: This is the official acronym of the renowned German company Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik. The extra "M" at the end explicitly indicates that the base metal alloy used under the silver is brass (Messing in German).
I/O: This standard control mark from WMF indicates the piece has a normal thickness and standard electroplating of silver (silver bath).
as: Means Antique Silver finish (silvered antique finish). Indicates the piece received an intentional artistic oxidation treatment in the recesses of the relief to enhance the decorative details and give a classic patinated look.
Normal wear signals on the silver layer due to age and use, with slight oxidation on the service face. Free of restorations or major structural dents.
