Magnificent XXL Vintage Buffalo Horns Set (50 cm) – Hand-carved Eagle & Tiger.
An impressive and exceptionally large pair of vintage Asian water buffalo horns. These horns are completely hand-carved in the traditional scrimshaw style. It is a mirror-image set of high quality, mounted on the original, stepped wooden stands.

A beautiful, robust XXL size that catches the eye immediately.
Symbolism and details:
The horns tell a classic Asian story about the balance of strength:
Top: A finely detailed eagle (king of the sky) in full flight between stylized clouds.
Bottom: A watchful, roaring tiger (king of the earth) on a natural ground.
Special feature: Both the eagles and the tigers are provided with expressive, red-accented eyes which wonderfully bring out the dynamics of the carving. The deep engravings are filled with a warm yellow/gold pigment that beautifully contrasts with the deep black, glossy polished horn.
