Decorative bell - Monastery bell with an angel

Offered is a beautiful, large and highly decorative example of an authentic monastery bell (monastery bell). This sturdy model is made of heavy yellow brass/brass and weighs no less than 2.5 kilograms. The bell is equipped with a richly decorated wall mount in a historicizing neo-Gothic style.

Symbolism and Inscription The bell is surrounded by detailed reliefs, including a fleur-de-lis, open books, and a winged griffin/evangelist symbols. Above the bell stands an angel with outspread wings. Very beautiful is the traditional Latin inscription on the flank of the bell:

* "QUI ME TANGIT VOCEM MEAM AUDIT"
(Translated: "Who touches me hears my voice")



Mechanism and Tone The mechanical balance system is fully intact and equipped with the characteristic counterweight in the form of a stylized creature (lizard/dragonling). The bell is fitted with the original pull chain and a graciously cast handle. The original clapper is completely present on the inside. The bell produces a beautiful, very clear and loud tone.

The object is in a fine, authentic condition with a wonderfully well-worn patina that emphasizes its historical character. A functional and imposing centerpiece for by the front door, in the garden, or for the collector.
