Magnificent Sheaffer Intrigue set consisting of a fountain pen and a matching ballpoint, kept in excellent overall condition. The chrome and gunmetal metallic finish maintains a deep, uniform shine, with only light signs of superficial use typical of careful upkeep and the passage of time, without major dings or any structural deformations.

The fountain pen preserves one of the collection’s most emblematic elements: its spectacular “Inlaid Nib” in white 14K/585 gold, made in the USA, in size M (Medium). The nib is clean, correctly aligned, and fully operational, also offering the aerodynamic and futuristic aesthetic characteristic of the Intrigue series.

The original Sheaffer filling system remains complete and functional. This model incorporates the well-known “captive converter” system, a converter captive integrated inside the pen body, developed specifically for the Intrigue line. Unlike traditional detachable converters, the mechanism is permanently integrated inside the fountain pen, preserving the clean and continuous aesthetics of the design.

Operation of the system is performed by partially unscrewing the rear end cap, leaving visible a small internal metal knob that actuates the piston of the converter. When turned with the nib submerged in ink, the system draws the charge into the internal reservoir. It is a sophisticated and uncommon technical solution, highly appreciated today by collectors and Sheaffer enthusiasts due to its manufacturing complexity and mechanical uniqueness.

The matching ballpoint maintains excellent aesthetic presence and proper operation of its twist mechanism.
