Antique Japanese Compact Chadansu Tea Cabinet in Burl Zelkova with Glass Doors and Three Drawers - Taisho/Showa
== DESCRIPTION ==
A compact Japanese tea cabinet (chadansu) in two sections, made of deep red-brown burl wood that appears to be zelkova (keyaki), with a lustrous aged finish. The upper section has sliding panel doors and a glazed display compartment with an ogee (wave-form) display shelf; the lower section has sliding doors and three drawers with iron swing handles, standing on a moulded plinth. Its modest size makes it suitable for modern interiors. The two sections separate for transport.
Condition: Good antique condition with honest age-related wear consistent with its age and use: surface scratches, small dents, minor fading and patina, and light wear to the finish and hardware. The original character has been left untouched. All photographs show the piece as it is; please study the detail photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
