AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying condition and authenticity is central to our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, clothing and branded accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the individual item and available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when expressly indicated in the description or can be requested before the offer, agreeing on availability, content and any costs. Catawiki expert review is separate from our expert evaluation and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the item offered, its accessories and stated conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are assessed in relation to the nature, era and condition of the item. Photographs complement the description without limiting liability for incorrect characteristics or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents explicitly indicated are included. Trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners; their mention identifies the items and does not imply affiliation or authorization of the brand.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized using methods compatible with the materials and its preservation, then carefully packaged.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be stored in different warehouses: allow approximately 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, for special destinations or customs delays. Shipping will occur within the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not extend the shipping deadline.

Upon receipt, check the packaging. In case of dents, cuts, openings or breaks, ask the courier to note a specific reserve, where possible. We recommend photographing the package before and after opening and keeping packaging, protective materials and label to facilitate any insurance verifications.

The absence of a reserve, photos or packaging does not automatically waive consumers’ non-derogable rights. In consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by Art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or issue, contact us via the order chat on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what was observed.

In case of damage, item not as described or missing content, report the problem promptly to Catawiki support as well, preferably immediately and always within 3 days as per the platform’s procedure, to enable the handling of the complaint and possible suspension of payment.

This operational term does not imply waiver of the right of withdrawal or the legal guarantee under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the purchaser acts as a consumer and the legal requirements are met, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without motivation within 14 days of receiving the item, pursuant to Arts. 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to legal exceptions.

The decision must be communicated via explicit declaration to the seller, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be returned within 14 days of the withdrawal notice.

For mere reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Amounts due by law, including standard initial delivery costs, will be reimbursed; higher costs for a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not due.

Refund is made without undue delay and within legal terms, with the possibility of suspending it until the item is received or proof of return is provided, under the conditions provided by the law. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are handled through the platform according to the respective competencies, without prejudice to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any decrease in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL GUARANTEE AND CONFORMITY DEFECTS

In consumer sales, the legal conformity guarantee provided by Arts. 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code applies, also for used goods, taking into account prior use and contractually declared features.

The ordinary duration of the liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, a possible reduction, not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and permitted by applicable rules.

In the presence of a conformity defect, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where feasible, or a reduction in price or termination of the contract when the conditions apply.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund where appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return is due to a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are borne by us in accordance with the law. Costs for other scenarios of cancellation are determined by the cause of cancellation and applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before performing repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and agree on the solution. Unauthorized interventions may alter the original state, compromise assessments and affect liability for damages or defects caused.

Automatic refunds for interventions commissioned independently from third parties are not provided. The buyer’s non-derogable rights remain: an unauthorized intervention does not, by itself, result in loss of all protections for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include accessories and documents received and be protected with suitable packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the sale document. The original receipt is not the only acceptable proof of purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and customs clearance fees may apply, depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be considered automatically due a second time.

When necessary, tax or identifying data may be requested for customs clearance. A passport number will be requested only if truly required by applicable rules or the carrier’s documented instructions or competent authority.

We invite buyers to check for import restrictions in advance. For items subject to special regulations, including CITES or cultural property rules, shipping remains subject to the legal possibility of export/import and the necessary documentation.

CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of remote sale of precious items subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is required and remote identification is carried out according to the modalities provided by applicable regulations.

If essential information is missing to fulfill a legal obligation, the operation cannot be completed until regularized. Any cancellation and refund will be handled with Catawiki according to applicable law and conditions, without automatic exclusion of responsibility.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, fiscal, customs purposes and for applicable legal duties, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only necessary data will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention periods.
