Beautiful handmade mid-century vase from the 1950s or early 1960s by VEB Georgenthal from the former East Germany. The vase is hand-turned (visible wheel marks inside) and has a black metallic-like base glaze with brown tones, featuring an incised geometric diamond pattern (grgrid) filled with a contrasting turquoise tint. This specific design with the incised diamond pattern (sgraffito technique) is sought after by enthusiasts of East German ceramics (often collected as Geokeramik).

Prachtige handgemaakte mid-century vaas uit de jaren 50 of vroege jaren 60 van VEB Georgenthal uit de voormalige DDR.
De vaas is handgedraaid (zichtbaar aan de draairingen binnenin), en heeft een zwart metallic-achtige basisglazuur met bruine tinten en met een ingekrast geometrisch ruitpatroon (grgrid) dat is ingevuld met een contrasterende turquoise tint.
Dit specifieke design met het ingekraste ruitpatroon (sgraffito-techniek) is gezocht onder liefhebbers van Oost-Duitse keramiek (ook vaak verzameld als Geokeramik).
