Description from the seller
Art Deco hanging lamp in pink alabaster - 1930s
Refined Art Deco cup pendant (period 1920-1940) made in alabaster with suggestive natural veining in pink and milky white tones. The external surface is embellished with a concentric ring-work degradant, typical of the geometric taste of the era.
The diffuser is supported by its original suspension system in braided cord and intertwined trim in bronze/gold colors, complete with decorative knots and a coordinated rosette crown. It retains the characteristic era lampholder in ceramic and metal.
When lit, the backlit stone diffuses a warm, soft, atmospheric light that enhances the natural veins of the material. A piece of great charm, perfect for vintage interiors and mid-century modern decor.
The item presents in good vintage structural condition with normal signs of aging. A small chip on the outer edge of the diffuser and traces of oxidation/rust on the internal metal hooks are noted (with slight color transfer onto the stone near the holes), as visible in the photo. The electrical wiring is original to the period: for safety reasons, a check or replacement of the internal wire is recommended before installation.
