Stan Lee - Star Wars #52 - To Take The Tarkin

For sale is an original limited edition boxed canvas, “Star Wars #52 – To Take The Tarkin”. It is hand-signed by the late Stan Lee and numbered 9/195.

The artwork reproduces the classic October 1981 cover of Marvel’s Star Wars comic, issue #52. It features Darth Vader, the Millennium Falcon, a TIE fighter, C-3PO and R2-D2, with the iconic Star Wars logo. The colours are bold and the comic-book detail is sharp, so it makes a real statement on the wall.

It was published in Winter 2015 by Washington Green Fine Art, in association with Aaron Fine Arts and CC/Marvel Fine Art. The canvas is hand-signed and numbered on the front, in the lower left corner.

Comes with the original Washington Green certificate of authenticity. The certificate is signed by publisher Glyn Washington and by Stan Lee, and its edition number (9) matches the canvas.
Condition: The canvas is in excellent condition, with no marks, damage or fading. There is some slight wear on the black box frame, including a small mark on the top edge, as shown in the photos. It is fully visible in the listing, and it isn’t noticeable when the piece is hanging.

Low edition numbers are popular with collectors, and with Stan Lee’s passing, hand-signed pieces like this are becoming harder to find. It is a great piece for any Star Wars, Marvel or comic art collector.

Collection and postage: Collection is preferred from Withington, South Manchester, because of the size and value of the piece. UK delivery can be arranged by insured courier at the buyer’s cost. It will be professionally wrapped with corner protection and foam.
