A 12‑carat yellow gold, three‑piece antique gentleman’s jewelry set from the late historicism/Jugendstil (circa 1900–1910) weighing a total of 47 g, featuring a main Onyx stone and accompanying hematite gems, presented in the original signed case by Theodor Schallmayer of Munich with no laboratory report.
Description from the seller
Extraordinary and rare, 3-piece antique gentlemen's jewelry ensemble from the time of late Historicism / Art Nouveau (c. 1900–1910). The set is fully preserved and is housed in the rare signed original jewel case of the Royal Bavarian Court Supplier Theodor Schallmayer, Munich.
The ensemble is striking for its consistently coordinated design: All pieces are set with finely cut hematite cabochons that depict the profile of an ancient helmeted warrior in precise intaglio deep-cut.
Detailed specification & material testing:
Gentlemen's cabochon ring (12K gold):
Material: Solid 12 karat / 500 gold. The fineness was non-destructively tested by X-ray fluorescence (RFA / XRF) at Degussa and confirmed.
Weight: 7.9 grams.
Ring size: EU 56 / US 7.5 (inner diameter: approx. 17.7 mm / inner circumference: approx. 55.6 mm). The shank was professionally altered once in the past; a further size change is easily possible due to the solid 12K alloy.
Design: Three-part shank with fine pearl-wire decoration and lateral volutes.
Setting: Real hematite cabochons (bloodstone) with deeply cut warrior portrait.
Image pendant (hinged):
Material: High-quality American Doublé / rolled gold with historic patina.
Setting: Analog hematite cabochon in the intaglio cut, matching the ring.
Condition: Hinged mechanism closes perfectly.
Stepped-link pocket watch chain:
Material: High-quality American Doublé / rolled gold with matching patina.
Original presentation case:
Provenance: Gold-plated signature in the silk lining of the lid: "Theodor Schallmayer – Kgl. Bayer. Hoflieferant – München".
Precisely tailored to the three pieces.
Condition report:
Overall condition: Very nice, authentic antique condition with noble patina. Light, age-related wear on the eyelets and chain links underscores historical use.
Total weight: 47.0 grams (all three pieces together).
Test: The gold alloy of the ring is 100% confirmed by professional RFA measurement at Degussa."} })
