Description from the seller
This Japanese bronze incense burner is a representative work of Japanese metal casting craftsmanship. The lid features a perforated design, allowing smoke to slowly escape through the openings, and is topped with a sculpture of a mythical beast.
The outer wall of the burner is decorated with high-relief phoenixes and landscape patterns. The phoenixes are depicted with graceful and dynamic forms, complemented by animal-head handles with rings on either side, creating a rich visual effect. The burner is supported by three tall animal legs, giving it a stable yet dynamic overall shape. A square mark is cast on the bottom, serving as the craftsman's signature.
