Oak three‑leg stool in brutalist style, dating to 1950–1960, with a 29 cm wide and 21.5 cm deep top, 33 cm high, weighing about 4 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
Very beautiful oak stool, handmade with three sturdy legs. The stool is 33 cm high, the width of the top is about 29 cm and the depth of the top over 21 cm. The weight is about 4 kg.
The stool probably dates from the 1950s or early '60s of the previous century, but could be a bit older. The style could be described as brutalist (heavy materials, robust finish with visible joints).
What is particularly notable is that functionality takes precedence in the design, and the designer did not indulge in various ornaments.
The stool is still 100% stable, and one could almost sit an elephant on it. The legs are not exactly under the seating surface. They were probably glued again at some point. This could be done again, but it is not necessary; it hardly shows and the stool sits flat and stable. Furthermore there are many places where the varnish has worn away (see photos). If you want to restore the stool to new, you would remove the varnish and varnish it in wax (or revarnish). you could also leave it as it is.
The stool can of course be used as a stool, but also as a pedestal and even as a low side table (see photos).
It is carefully packed and insured shipped.
