Kabuto (1) - Antique - Japan Edo Period (1600-1868)

Kabuto and mask of Samurai with a kuwagata maedate from the Edo period . . Interesting kabuto from the middle of the Edo period. 1680-1750. . The kabuto is a hari -bachi kabuto made in iron with 6 large plates (roku-ken) then black lacquered . The shikoro is lacing with blue sugake odoshi . And the front plate is thick two sheet of iron. Good ,strong reinforcement . . .This helmet bears testimony to its creator's genius, drawing inspirations from various designs to craft a unique and original piece : . - The general shape of this helmet immediately reminiscent of the 5-plate Hineno-Zunari helmets - It features the " tenkokuzan "shape, characterized by a pronounced depression where the plates meet around the tehen no kanamono or hachimanza . -Additionally, the outer plates of the hachi bowl are slightly convex, reminiscent of "akoda"-style helmets. . Not a classic Hineno-zunari kabuto here but an original kabuto made with 6 plates . . Edo-period armorers sought to showcase their craftsmanship, no longer bound by the urgent need for rapid helmet production that had characterized the warfare Sengoku period... . In adition there is a late Edo period mask tsubame-bo , made in iron then shu-red lacquer outside and black lacquered inside . . In good condition with bright red color ,and the yodare-kake is lacing with blue lacing odoshi. . A good and authentique Samurai ensemble in good condition with aged patina. . . . ( free worldwide shipping ). . Import taxes outside Europe are the responsability of the buyer.
