Art Deco beech wood (Beech) haberdashery cabinet from Belgium, dating to 1920–1940, by Selecta Couleurs Solides, with dimensions 43 cm wide, 48 cm high, 35 cm deep, originating in Aalst and showing excellent used condition with a partly glass-front compartment for samples.
Description from the seller
The box originates from the well-known Belgian textile manufacturer Filature & Filteries Réunies (F.F.R.) from the city of Aalst.
The Logo: F.F.R. used several brands for their dyeing lines. This specific logo features a seated cat, which at the time was a very recognizable hallmark for their strong sewing threads.
The inscription "Alost - Belgigue" (the French name for Aalst) and the typography used for "Selecta" take us back to the 1920s–1940s. At that time, the administration and marketing of large Belgian textile factories were still largely conducted in French.
The antique filing cabinet, originally used to display yarn on the counter of a notions shop.
Drawers fitted with compartments and a wooden knob.
The front compartments are partly fitted with a glass pane to house a sample.
The advertising text is in exceptionally good condition.
This is a very solidly built filing cabinet; photos complete this description. The cabinet will be carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
