Pair of wall sconces in gilt bronze (ormolu), dating to 1950–1960, each with three light points, electrified and suitable for interior decorative lighting; dimensions per piece are 63 cm high by 42 cm wide by 20 cm deep, with a patinated finish and minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Product specifications
- Type: Wall sconces (pair)
- Era: 20th century
- Material: Bronze
- Color / finish: Gold
- Use: Indoor / decorative lighting
- Condition: Very good condition, with patina and light marks typical of use and age
- Measurements (each sconce): 63 cm high (up to the socket) × 42 cm wide × 20 cm deep
Pair of wall sconces made in gilded bronze (ormolu, fire-gilt), with marked Rococo inspiration, featuring curved arms, abundant vegetal ornamentation and an asymmetrical composition of great dynamism. Each sconce presents three light points, arranged at different levels, generating a scenographic and highly decorative effect.
Due to its design, casting quality and gilding treatment, these pieces can possibly be attributed to Pedro Tendero, within the Spanish decorative lighting tradition of the 20th century, although no documentation or visible signature is provided that would allow a definitive attribution, so this is stated with due prudence.
The sconces are electrified, with visible sockets, and are conceived both as functional lighting elements and as decorative pieces with a strong wall presence, especially suitable for representative spaces.
