Description from the seller

elegant two-piece collection perfectly showcases the evolution of early to mid-20th-century smoking culture. The main highlight is a highly collectible Art Deco "secret" telescopic pendant holder from Paris, offered alongside a classic, ultra-lightweight French "Sport" briar wood estate pipe. Both objects are complete with their frame-closure protective cases.

Object 1: Art Deco "Tour Eiffel" Secret Telescopic Cigarette/Cheroot Holder Pendant

• Type of Object: Antique Secret Pendant Case (Étui à secret) with a hidden, miniature telescopic cigarette holder.
• Period / Era: Art Deco (circa 1920–1930s).
• Origin / Provenance: Paris, France (High-quality historical travel souvenir).
• Dimensions:
• Pendant capsule: 4.5 cm (Length) × 1.5 cm (Width).
• Inner Holder: 3.2 cm × 1.0 cm (Folded/Retracted) — extends to 6.5 cm × 1.0 cm (Fully deployed/Extended).
• Weight Breakdown:
• Pendant alone: 5 grams.
• Pendant inside its leather sheath: 9 grams.
• Material(s): Highly polished amber-toned phenolic resin (such as Bakelite, Catalan, or Faturan plastic), gold-plated brass telescopic components, and a long gold-tone neck chain. The protective outer sleeve is a soft, cream-toned leather pouch with a miniature metal kiss-lock/clasp frame.
• Design Details: The front of the faceted resin pendant capsule features an exquisite, applied 3D metal medallion depicting the Eiffel Tower with the embossed banner inscription "TOUR EIFFEL". The cap detaches via high-quality molded resin screw-threads to reveal the miniature, spiral-fluted gold-gilt metal cigarette holder, which expands telescopically to double its retracted size. It is completed by a dark faux-tortoiseshell accent mouthpiece.
• Condition: Excellent antique condition for its age. The telescopic inner mechanism functions smoothly, threads cleanly, and retains a bright finish. The resin body shows rich color depth with negligible surface wear. The clasp-frame leather pouch displays gentle, normal age-toning.

Object 2: Vintage "Sport" Miniature Textured Briar Tobacco Pipe

• Type of Object: Smoking Pipe (Pipe de bruyère).
• Brand / Markings: Stamped "Sport" in beautiful gold-gilted script on the side of the wood shank (highly typical of pocket-sized outdoor and travel pipes manufactured in Saint-Claude, France).
• Period / Era: Vintage mid-20th century.
• Material(s): Natural Briarwood (Bruyère) body, black plastic stem with a comfortable "fishtail" slot mouthpiece, finished with a silver-colored metal collar ring. Paired with a fitted, custom-shaped cream suede leather pouch featuring a classic metal clasp frame.
• Dimensions: 13.5 cm (Length) × 3.2 cm (Bowl Height).
• Weight (Pipe in its bag): 10 grams.
• Condition Disclosure: Used estate condition. The briar bowl has a beautiful rustic, textured bark finish with normal interior carbon residue from historical use. Please note: As clearly shown in the close-up macro photographs, the black plastic stem exhibits distinct localized heat deformation / indentation melt marks from past close proximity to a high heat source. The custom suede pouch shows minor storage patina but remains completely intact with a strong, working metal closure.
