Five wooden speculaas boards from the Netherlands, dating roughly 1850–1900 (one board around 1950), in primitive folk-art style and in good used condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Four boards between 1850 and 1900; the board with horse and cart is around 1950
Dimensions: double-sided larger: 34 by 9 cm; double-sided smaller: 25 by 7 cm; board with sea creature: 22 by 23 cm; board with horse: 22 by 19 cm; board with coach: 29 by 16 cm.
What you see in our photos are 5 boards from a collection, two small double-sided boards, the smallest with a man and a woman figure, the larger with four male figures (on the edge are the bakers' initials, see photo).
Then the beautiful fruitwood board of a sea creature, which probably has symbolic meaning. The board with a jumping horse: nicely carved in detail and probably oak wood.
Finally a somewhat newer, but very nice board of a horse-drawn carriage with four passengers. Cute and primitively carved. True folk art.
We have taken photos that are representative of the boards offered to us, and it should be noted that one board has a crack running the full length. Easy to repair by placing it in a glue clamp overnight.
We will ship it with track and trace.
We would appreciate your feedback.
