Mimmo Paladino, Sans Titre (2014), an aquaforte and serigrafia with collage on handmade Aetna Sicars 600 g paper, in a limited edition, 80 by 60 cm, depicting a maritime landscape and signed by hand, produced in Italy by Galleria, in excellent condition with provenance from Galleria Grafica Manzoni and an authenticity certificate provided.
Description from the seller
Mimmo Paladino, Italian artist born in 1948, historic leader of Transavanguardia.
An important artistic movement with international reach, born in the 1980s of the twentieth century, theorized by Achille Bonito Oliva.
In this work there is a blue-toned narrative that unfolds across two temporal planes: in the upper hemisphere a schooner rises and sails into the future, in the lower hemisphere a look at the past with cave paintings, in the center a line that represents the present, the moment we are in which, by its very definition, cannot be represented, but can only divide the past from the future.
Publication in the catalog raisonné: “Paladino. Opera grafica 2001-2014” curated by Enzo Di Martino; a photocopy of the publication will be provided.
The work is executed in silkscreen printing with collage interventions on handmade paper Aetna Sicars of 600g.
The provenance of the work is from Galleria Grafica Manzoni, which issues the certificate of authenticity.
