AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 italian violin, labeled Raffaele ed Antonio Gagliano quodam Giovanni Napoli 1831. The violin has tears and wears to original golden amber varnish. No cracks.
The instrument has an excellent high to medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed wood with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The whole length of the violin is 593 mm and the back 360 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 170 mm; middle bouts: 115 mm; lower bouts: 210 mm. The sound is very deep, rich, warm and powerful. Don't hesitate to contact me for any questions. Shipping worldwide insured!
Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
