Finland - Commemorative token

Main medal (left): Attached to a red ribbon with yellow stripes are two emblems—crossed swords (signifying an award for combat merit directly on the battlefield) and an oak leaf (indicating a subsequent award of the same medal).

Miniature (right): A reduced-size version of the decoration (a "lapel" or "buttonhole" miniature), intended for wear on civilian clothing or on a formal ribbon bar. It features an applied red cross, indicating the medical variant of the medal (awarded to medical personnel, medics, or Red Cross staff). [1, 2]

The reverse (back) of such medals typically bears the inscription "Suomen Kansalta" ("From the Finnish People") and the year of issue (for example, 1939 or 1941). [1, 2]
