Description A well-matched pair of bowls, each with gently rounded sides rising to a neatly finished rim. The exterior is freely and vividly painted in rich, saturated underglaze blue with continuous scrolling peony vines — full-blossomed flowers and curling foliage intertwining in a rhythmic, abundant composition that encircles each vessel completely. The glaze is bright and luminous, lending depth and clarity to the deep blue pigment. Harmonious in proportion, decoration and tone, they form an attractive and decorative pair. Dimensions: Diameter: approx. D-12cm each Condition First bowl: natural kiln crack to the rim — a manufacturing feature, not later damage; Second bowl: extremely minor, negligible nick/frit to the rim — barely noticeable and insignificant in appearance; Both fall within the category of good, intact examples; no cracks, hairlines, chips or restoration elsewhere; Enamels, glaze and form remain crisp and well-preserved.
