This 0.35 g gold nugget comes from Sotajoki, Lapland, Finland.
Description from the seller
The gold in this laplandic nugget already existed before the Sun.
It was forged more than 4.6 billion years ago in supernovae explosions and stellar collisions, before the Sun and Earth even existed. It traveled through space as stardust and became trapped in the mother rock of Lapland, almost 2 billion years old. Then it spent millennia beneath Arctic ice, until the thaw carried it to the rivers. Gold is not manufactured or printed: it is found. And there won’t be more.
In 1868, an expedition found it in the Ivalo River and unleashed Finland’s first gold rush. In 1945, with the war recently over, men returning from the front went up to Lemmenjoki to try their luck with gold. Even today, every summer, dozens of prospectors wash it under the midnight sun; the rest of the year, snow and polar night cover everything. Lapland yields very little gold, and no two nuggets are alike: this one is unique.
Why do you need gold? Those men were leaving a war and went to look for gold. It’s no accident: in every war, many who had to flee with nothing took gold with them, because it fits in a pocket and is valuable across borders. Wars return today, debt keeps growing and talk of collapse abounds. The money in your account is a promise from the bank; gold is no one’s promise, and no government can print it.
To survive a crisis you don’t need a bar, but something you can divide and trade. That’s why nuggets are the most practical way to own gold: small, divisible, interchangeable, and recognizable anywhere in the world. The moment to have them is before you need them.
You will receive it in a small glass vial that protects it and lets you admire it without touching it. I ship as soon as possible after payment.
A piece of the Arctic older than the Sun, to protect what you have. There is only one: bid on it.
Ideal for:
• Collectors of minerals and natural gold nuggets
• Collectors of native gold of high purity
• Lovers of the Australian gold rush history
• Fans of unique geological specimens
• Those who value physical gold as a real, tangible asset
• An extraordinary gift for someone special
