A minimalist unisex vintage ring from the former USSR, made of 23-carat yellow gold, weighing 7.56 g and showing signs of wear; no laboratory report is included.
Description from the seller
For sale is a particularly massive, authentic gold ring from the former Soviet Union – a real piece of history. It probably dates from the 1970s (approx. 1971) and, due to its high weight, is not only a striking piece of jewelry but also a solid tangible asset.
Details about the ring:
Material: 958 gold (23 carats) – the rare, high-quality, very gold-rich Soviet alloy.
Weight: approx. 7.56 grams (solidly crafted).
Inner diameter: approx. 20.7 mm (corresponds to ring size 65 / 66).
Width: approx. 8 mm.
Origin: USSR, likely manufactured around 1971 in the Leningrad jewelry factory or Alma-Ata (information not guaranteed, inferred from the maker’s mark).
Engravings / Hallmarks:
Finest hallmark: State Soviet fineness mark with star (hammer & sickle) as well as the inscription “958” for 23 carat gold.
Manufacturer punch (Imennik): Probably “.1AЮ” or “.1ЛЮ” (1971, Soviet jewelry factory). (as noted above, this information is not guaranteed)
The ring shows the authentic wear typical for its age, which underscores the character of this vintage piece. It was valued as an engagement ring and impresses with a heavy sense of solidity that is hardly found in contemporary jewelry.
Pure fineness gold content: approx. 7.24 grams of gold (95.8% of 7.56 g).
Measurement note:
Please note that all measurements (weight and dimensions) were privately performed by me as an amateur. Small deviations (e.g., on the scale in the range of 0.01 g to 0.05 g) are possible since no professionally calibrated precision scale was used.
Private sale: The sale is conducted without any warranty, guarantee, or liability for material defects.
